The first Monday Night Football of the regular season brings us two games to enjoy. The early game has the Minnesota Vikings taking on the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay. Many will tune in just to see if Aaron Rodgers can handle the pressure of taking over as quarterback of the Packers after many years of watching from the bench. We wish Aaron all the best! We’re also looking forward to watching the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson in action again after such an outstanding rookie season last year.

The second football game of the night features the Denver Broncos at the Oakland Raiders. This game will bring the debut of rookie Darren McFadden for the Raiders. Plus, we’ll finally get to see a lot more of JaMarcus Russell at quarterback for Oakland. Should be another exciting one to watch.

We’re going to continue with our family tradition of Monday Night Football predictions this season. For the first game of the night, all four of us are callling it a Vikings victory. For game two, Chase and Spencer are going with Denver, while David and I are predicting that Oakland will come away with the win.

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets prediction

High-flying Golden State Warriors will be looking to cement top position in the Western Conference with a win over Denver Nuggets at their Oracle Arena. Denver proved their worth in a 102-85 win at Portland Trail Blazers, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Saturday’s game against the title holders.

Steve Kerr’s unstoppable machine

Denver

Thanks to a 113-106 victory over Los Angeles Lakers Golden State Warriors extended their winning run in NBA to eleven games and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Denver Nuggets. The reigning champions sit in top position in the Western Conference, but Houston Rockets are breathing down their neck and we predict the hosts will take Saturday’s game very seriously. One of Golden State’s key players Stephen Curry is out indefinitely and, in his absence, the likes of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will be the men to watch in Steve Kerr’s team. KD led Warriors to the 113-106 win over Lakers with 33 points and 7 assists and all eyes will be on the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar when Golden State take on Denver on Saturday evening.

Shaun Livingston and Zaza Pachulia are both likely to miss the Denver Nuggets game with injury, whilst aforementioned ace Stephen Curry is sidelined with an ankle problem.

The Joker effect

Denver Nuggets quickly bounced back from back-to-back losses to the likes of Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers, with the team rolling over Portland Trail Blazers 102-85 on Friday. Nikola Jokic impressed in the triumph over Portland, with the Serbia international scoring 27 points, while adding six assists. Michael Malone’s men are determined to book their place in the play-offs, but they will have to be at their sharpest in the remainder of the season if they are to turn their dream into reality. Nuggets face an uphill task in Saturday’s clash against Golden State Warriors, but they could take advantage of the fact that “the Golden Boy” is out of contention with injury. In their last meeting at Oracle Arena Nuggets defeated Warriors 108-102 and it remains to be seen if the history is going to repeat itself. However, Denver are not regarded as good travelers and you should bear in mind that they have already suffered 12 defeats on the road this season.

Emmanuel Mudiay is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the game day, whilst Paul Millsap is sidelined with a wrist problem. Coach Michael Malone has no other selection worries ahead of the trip to Oakland.

Interesting Facts

  • Golden State are eyeing their 12th straight win
  • Denver had 49 rebounds in the 102-85 win over Blazers
  • Warriors have suffered three defeats at home so far this season
  • Kevin Durant has 26.6 points per game this season
  • Nuggets suffered seven losses in last ten away games

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets betting pick

Oakland

Golden State Warriors are undisputedly the best team in NBA, but seeing that Stephen Curry misses the Denver Nuggets game with injury, we are not tempted to put our money on Steve Kerr’s charges. Nuggets impressed in Friday’s clash against Portland Trail Blazers and they are likely to make life difficult for the defending champions at Oracle Arena.

Pick: Denver Nuggets +8.5
